Overview

Q-Skills as a Training Tool

Q-Skills is an interactive, multimedia software package designed to provide training and implementation support in the use and interpretation of the major quality improvement tools and techniques. It also includes an easy to use toolkit to allow students to enter their own data to create Flowcharts, Cause and Effect Diagrams and Pareto Diagrams, once the training is complete.

Users love Q-Skills because of its games, exercises, puzzles and effects - for example, the mastery test is a game of snakes and ladders.

Whether for initial, refresher or 'just-in-time' training, Q-Skills is designed to be used by almost anyone, from any industry. From office/shop floor workers to senior management, this product is effective for all levels of employees.

Q-Skills ensures consistent training for all staff while reducing off-the-job time. It enables "slow" time to be utilised more effectively. Q-Skills simplifies training of new employees and makes training in remote locations easy. Q-Skills may also be course for "old hands" by using Q-Skills' prior knowledge test.

Q-Skills' Performance Support

Training alone is never enough. People forget what they have learned. Q-Skills includes a powerful performance support module to assist teams when and where they need it - in the workplace.

The toolkit gives direct access to the tools themselves. It allows teams to enter their own data to generate charts and graphs. This module provides direct access to refresher training at the "point of need" and direct access for teams to enter their own data to draw Pareto Charts, Flowcharts, Pareto, Cause and Effect Diagrams at the "point of need".

As quoted by John Crossley from the Clorox Corporation:
"Right stuff at the right place at the right time!"
"Instantly can access within minutes anything you need.... Q-Skills appeals to the new world of work efficiency. It is the ease of access and interactivity that makes this the most efficient way to learn and apply the basic tools."
"Classroom training is dinosaur-ish!"

Q-Skills' Management Facilities

Q-Skills allows a training or quality manager to easily keep track of large numbers of users. It tracks who is at what stage, how they have performed and whether extra assistance or support is needed in certain areas or for particular individuals. This is particularly powerful when Q-Skills is accessed by many users across a network. The management area also provides extensive client customization.
